FAQ
Yes! We often customize sizes, colours, interior finishes and bench designs. We love a challenge and we love to create new designs so if you have an idea, we'd be happy to discuss
Buy them a Wellhouse….otherwise good luck
Our 6x6 Wellhouses start at $49,500 and prices will increase depending on the level of customization - interior and exterior. Prices will also increase as the size of the sauna increases. We are always happy to work up a price for you! Please reach out to info@wellhousesaunas.com anytime to discuss
All Wellhouse Saunas are inspected by independent certified electrical inspectors before delivery and are CSA/UL approved. You’ll want to be careful if you are considering a DIY kit as they are rarely inspected or certified
Yes, most of our heaters can be controlled remotely by your phone through wifi
All our saunas are clad in an architectural grade aluminum except our ShadowCube which is clad in Sho Sugi Ban Style wood
Absolutely! We can custom colour match your sauna and/or design it in almost any colour. We recently delivered a Wellhouse that matched the exterior aluminum of the terrace on a condo building. We've also made dark bronze coloured Wellhouses, champagne coloured ones and several custom ivory coloured ones as well. Hoping to do a Defender Green one soon - anyone game?
As a reminder, our SugarCube is white, our PepperCube is black, our ShadowCube is clad is Sho Sugi Ban style wood and our IceCube is mirrored
Your electrician will hook your Wellhouse up directly to your electrical panel. It requires 240 Volt power. We can let you know the exact amperage required when we've decided on which KW stove will be installed. You can guesstimate between 30-40 amps will be needed for an 8KW stove all the way up to 66 amps required for a 16 KW stove. Different size stoves are used in different sized saunas.
Wellhouse Saunas are engineered for Canadian winters. We do not advise letting large amounts of snow build up on your Wellhouse; however, they ARE engineered to withstand our winters and some snow on the roof is not a problem. Again, we caution you as most flimsy DIY kit saunas can collapse under the weight of a big snowfall
Yes. We are often asked by clients to change the lighting configurations and. when technically possible, we can make it happen - just ask us
Our best advice is to treat it like a beautiful butcher’s block countertop. Wipe it down with a damp cloth after each use and periodically apply our sauna wax to help keep it looking like new. When needed, a quick sanding and re-application of our wax will bring the wood back to almost "as-new" condition. Just as you wouldn't let water or red wine sit for days on your butcher block, don't let water and sweat sit for long periods on your wooden benches and walls
Wellhouse Saunas are meant for outdoor areas and are shipped fully assembled. NO LOCATION IS OUT OF REACH. We have delivered saunas by truck, crane, forklift and even by barge. We haven't delivered any by helicopter yet but it's on our bucket list! Once delivered curbside, your Wellhouse is unloaded and put in place by a forklift, crane, boom truck or telehandler. Don’t worry, Wellhouse will advise you every step of the way and will help you to look after all of these options and details; this is part of our white glove concierge service
Yes, Wellhouse guarantees the sauna cabin, interior and exterior, for 1 year from any damage due to significant design flaws or material failure. Check with us about the manufacturers' warranties on the stoves. Otherwise, normal wear and tear is your responsibility
We thought most of the comments would be about our modern minimalistic designs - which many are but we were pleasantly surprised when a delightful customer in The Hamptons called us recently to thank us for helping to create meaningful family time with their adult children in their new ShadowCube Sauna. He said that it has completely changed the way the family interacts on the weekends with everyone looking forward to great conversations while they heatsoak. That was extremely rewarding feedback as this is exactly why we started Wellhouse; to create meaningful family connections, facilitate healthy habits and to do this all in beautiful surroundings where every touchpoint is thoughtfully curated, designed and crafted. Each Wellhouse takes hundreds of hours to handcraft and we love hearing how thrilled our clients are with the results!
A concrete pad is always the best option but a well-built wooden deck with proper footings will also work. Once designed, we will supply you and your contractor with a drawing of the placement of our leveling feet. This way you can ensure that your substrate is properly formed/built to support the weight of your Wellhouse. A Wellhouse can weigh between 1800 to 6000 lbs depending on size
